This tumbler is thrown on the wheel using porcelain stoneware clay in my studio, located in Calgary, Alberta. The graphic on the tumbler has been hand-carved into the surface using the sgraffito technique, which involves covering the tumbler’s surface with my handmade black slip and carving away until the image is finished. This means you can feel the slightly raised, carved texture as you wrap your hands around a stemless glass of wine, or an ice-cold lemonade at the end of a long day. While I create different series of designs, each tumbler is made and decorated individually, so that no two pieces are identical, and each design is matched with one of my brightly coloured glazes.
Sizing:
All of my tumblers are handmade, so their individual sizes may differ slightly. I do my best to keep them as consistent as possible.
