This is a pre-order, you will not be able to see the final piece until it is finished and shipped to you. These orders will take six to eight weeks to fulfill as the product has yet to be made. You have the option of selecting which glaze colour you would like to compliment your design. Each mug will be uniquely carved and painted. These mugs do not have thumbrests.
I created my original bee mug for a local honey company that operates out of the foothills. However, I felt that it needed a bit of a makeover so I turned to Instagram, where I received a great deal of collaborative input. Revel in the beautiful outdoors with a tankard of mead in this baby.
This mug is thrown on the wheel using porcelain stoneware clay in my studio, located in Calgary, Alberta. The graphic on the mug has been hand-carved into the surface using the sgraffito technique, which involves covering the surface of the plate and the mug with my handmade black slip and carving away until the image is finished. This means you can feel the slightly raised, carved texture. Each mug holds about 500mL. While I create different series of designs each mug is made and decorated individually, so that no two pieces are identical, and each design is matched with one of my brightly coloured glazes.

All of my pieces are handmade, so their individual sizes may differ slightly. I do my best to keep them as consistent as possible.
